Welcome New Graduate Students!

Information on seminars and workshops for 2011-2012

Dear New Graduate Students,

It was a pleasure to meet so many of you at the Graduate School's orientation on Monday, August 15. We look forward to meeting the rest of you at the evening orientation on Wednesday, August 24.  As promised, we are posting information about the upcoming seminars and workshops for 2011-2012. Here is the link:

For starters, if you are a TA or interested in teaching at any point, please register for the Teaching & Learning Workshop that will be held next Friday, August 26.
Breakfast and lunch will be served.

As part of that teaching workshop, Dr. Robert Deluty is presenting a lunch seminar on "Life/Work Balance."  You do not have to attend the teaching workshop to attend the lunch seminar, but you must register here: http://my.umbc.edu/groups/promise/events/7354 so that we can order a lunch for you.

Please join us for these professional development seminars. We seek to provide  holistic approaches to graduate education that supplement your disciplinary training with skills that you can use in graduate school and in your careers. More importantly, these workshops provide you with opportunities to build community among fellow graduate students, faculty, and staff.
