If you're looking for a place to start, please consider the following resource based on a session that occurred a few weeks ago (slides and audio links are the property of the CIRTL network.) We will bring these kinds of sessions, webcasts, and resources to your attention regularly.

Flipped Classrooms: What Are They, and Why Should You Use Them?

Speaker: Martha Dunkelberger, Assistant Clinical Professor, Undergraduate Program Coordinator, Communication Sciences and Disorders, University of Houston

Discussion: Flipped classrooms turn the traditional teaching model on its head by introducing students to new concepts outside of class (rather than through lectures) and using class time to deepen that knowledge through exercises and other activities. This kind of format can fuel collaborative learning and strengthen understanding of complex topics. Join us to learn how this design works in practice and join a discussion on how it can be applied to the STEM classroom.
